| In principle, all visitors
travelling to China must hold a valid passport and a visa, except
for nationals of certain countries which have bilateral agreements
with China on mutual exemption from entry visas. Delegates are
requested to contact the appropriate Chinese diplomatic missions
in their country to obtain the necessary information concerning
current requirements with regard to passports and visas.
Based on the duly received information, the Chinese Ministry
of Labour and Social Security will coordinate with the relevant
Chinese Embassy or Consular Office to facilitate the issuance
of visas. Those delegates from countries which do not have
Chinese diplomatic missions or have not yet established diplomatic
relations with China should in principle apply for a visa
in the nearest country where there is a Chinese diplomatic
mission.
Delegates are also strongly advised to make the necessary
arrangements concerning passports and visas as early as possible
in order to avoid last-minute problems.
